“I didn't think Clever Relation would like the ground, but we don't try them on this at home. He travelled beautifully and picked up. We thought a bit of him last year, but he had a niggle so we put him away and he got heavy, so we gelded him. The feeling was he'd want better ground, but he wouldn't want it fast. He's been bought by Americans and one day could end up hurdling over there, although I'm sure they'd like a Cheltenham runner too. He was bought for a Flat career, but that's a good backstop to have - Hughie Morrison, trainer.”
