“A race like that probably suits Ndaawi better than a handicap nowadays. Josh gave him a good ride. He was in the right place and kicked at the right time. I imagine he'll run away on the Flat over the summer. He's a right horse for the boys and they're good owners. They've always had a horse with Gordon, more or less, since he started. I'd imagine all roads lead back to the Galway Hurdle, but he'll run away on the Flat too I'd imagine and there should be a good day in him on the Flat as well - Ian Amond, assistant trainer to Gordon Elliott.”

“Jack [Kennedy, winning rider] said as soon as he came in and before they called the stewards' inquiry that he thought we'd get it. He said the other leant on top of him for the last 50yds and intimidated Ndaawy all the way to the line. I'm delighted I won the race, but Noel [Meade, trainer of Helvic Dream] and I are very good friends. It's just not the same when you win it in a stewards' inquiry. Rules are rules though and if they're broken, the result deserves to be changed. This is unbelievable. We said we'd wait for today [after Cheltenham] and there's a race for him in October in America now. Hopefully the expenses have been paid for now - Gordon Elliott, trainer, speaking to Racing TV.”
