“Once Maximized was asked a serious question he put the race to bed on ground that was different to Haydock. He's probably better on a sounder surface as he's a slick horse. I said to Will [Buick] we've got a few others for the royal meeting. I'd like to give him a bit of a break and go for something like the July Stakes. I feel as though we've got a strong team of two-year-old colts. They've shown us that early doors and there are perhaps a few others who will fit the bill for the Coventry or Norfolk Stakes this month - Charlie Appleby, trainer.Maximized did it really well. He's a very smooth sort of horse and we were very happy with the track for him, he dealt with it very well. The horse on his outside came very quickly, so I had to ask for an effort a little earlier than expected but he stuck out well. He's a lovely straightforward horse and I think there's a lot more to come from him. He'll improve plenty - William Buick, jockey.”

“Maximized was the first one in the gates and it was just a case of getting some experience into him but he jumped sharply. He was impressive over the last two furlongs, he quickened up really well and he's got plenty of speed.
