Quiet Start for v1.0 – No Selections Settled Across 56 Races

A Clean Slate for the v1.0 Card

Yesterday’s racing – 56 races across eight courses, from Newmarket's July course to Limerick, Goodwood, Down Royal, Market Rasen and Redcar – was a genuinely quiet day in the Racing Alpha office. The v1.0 AI card, our new full-race ratings system, recorded 0 settled selections out of 0, for a flat +0.00pts.

That’s not a typo. With no settled picks, there’s literally nothing to analyse from a performance standpoint. No winners, no losers – just a blank line on the ledger. For followers of the model, it’s a case of ‘nothing to see here’, but transparency is the brand, so we’re calling it as it is.

Why No Settled Selections?

The v1.0 card is designed to rate every race the model views as having sufficient data and confidence to issue a formal selection. Yesterday, either the parameters weren’t triggered, or selections were considered but didn’t make the final cut. As we’ve said before, we publish the full card – not a single tip – and sometimes that means a day with zero activity.

Importantly, this isn’t a failure. The model’s discipline to sit out when conditions aren’t right is part of its design. We’d rather have blank days than forced bets.

Looking Ahead to Today

Today’s racing looks busier for the v1.0 model, with a fresh set of meetings to assess. The full card for today is already live at our today’s racing page, and we’ll be updating selections as the data rolls in. For the long-term record, all settled picks are logged on the public performance ledger.

We’ll be back tomorrow to report on how today’s picks fared – good, bad, or indifferent. That’s the promise.
