V1.0 Card Takes a Hit: Ask Peter Fails to Deliver at Sandown

A Quiet, Costly Day for the V1.0 Card

Yesterday was a lean one for Racing Alpha's v1.0 AI card. From 48 races across seven courses — Bellewstown, Newton Abbot, Beverley, Chepstow, Doncaster, and Sandown — only one selection was settled, and it didn't land.

Ask Peter (advised 5.60) lined up at Sandown but failed to get home. That leaves the card at 0 from 1, -1.00pt on the day. Not the start anyone wants, but we publish every race the model rates, not just the winners. Full transparency is the point.

The Headline — Ask Peter Underperforms

Ask Peter went off at a similar price to our advised 5.60 but couldn't make the frame. The race was competitive, and the ground may have been sharper than ideal for this type. But excuses don't show in the P&L — it's a straightforward loss.

Wider Racing Landscape

Elsewhere, the cards at Beverley, Chepstow, and Doncaster threw up some competitive finishes, but none triggered the model's strongest signals. We don't chase action; we wait for the numbers to align.

Looking Ahead to Today

Today's racing shapes up with interest across the jumps and flat. The v1.0 model has been updated and will be running its assessments from early morning. You can view the full card and ratings at racingalpha.co.uk/today ahead of the off.

The public ledger — every result, good and bad — is live at racingalpha.co.uk/performance. We keep no secrets.
