Quiet Day for Racing Alpha’s v1.0 Card as No Selections Settled on 7-Course Friday
No settled selections – but that’s part of the story
Friday 7 August was an unusual day for Racing Alpha’s v1.0 card. Despite covering 46 races across seven courses – Newmarket (July), Thirsk, Musselburgh, Gowran Park, Wexford and Brighton – the model recorded zero settled selections. That meant a net movement of +0.00pt, with no winners from no runners.
Transparency is central to what we do, and days like this are worth noting. The v1.0 card didn’t produce any picks that were settled – a rare occurrence, but one that reinforces our commitment to publishing every rating, good or bad, on the public performance ledger.
A busy day of racing all the same
Even without AI involvement, the day’s racing offered plenty of interest across the six-furlong sprints at Brighton, the jumps at Wexford and the middle-distance fare at Newmarket’s July course. The variety of the seven-meeting card – from Musselburgh’s seaside track to Gowran Park’s Irish Flat – shows how much is happening on a typical Friday in the racing calendar.
Looking ahead to today’s racing
Saturday’s action will see a fresh set of v1.0 ratings across both codes. As always, the model will assess every race it can, and we’ll publish the full card – not a single tip – for subscribers to interpret. You can find today’s selections, once live, at Racing Alpha’s today page.
The quiet Friday is a reminder that even the best models have quiet days. The only way to judge long-term edge is to measure every outing, and that’s exactly what we do.
