Racing Alpha Results Review: A Tough Day at the Office on August 11
A Clean Sweep We'd Rather Forget
Sometimes the algorithm gets a whipping. Yesterday (11 August) was one of those days for the Racing Alpha v1.0 model. Across 25 races at Carlisle, Nottingham, Lingfield (AW), and Hamilton, our five settled selections returned 0 winners and a -5.00pt loss. It happens — and we believe in showing the full picture. The full public ledger is always available at our performance page for anyone to audit.
The Five That Didn't Fire
None of the selections could find the winning post first, with the prices ranging from the odds-on favourite Bone Marra (advised 3.25, beaten favourite) to the more speculative Gal (10.00). All five were beaten fairly, with no hard-luck stories to hide behind:
- Gal (10.00): Never figured, -1.00pt.
- Crazy Plan (6.60): Made no impression, -1.00pt.
- Distant Shore (6.60): Unable to land a blow, -1.00pt.
- Dinah Myte (7.80): Failed to get competitive, -1.00pt.
- Bone Marra (3.25): Short-priced disappointment, -1.00pt.
Headline Result: The Favourite That Faded
Bone Marra at 3.25 was the model's highest-rated selection on the card and the one that stung most. In a race where the data suggested a clear advantage, the market agreed, but the horse simply didn't deliver on the day. It's a reminder that even when the numbers align perfectly, racing remains beautifully unpredictable.
Looking Ahead: New Day, New Data
A blank day resets the narrative. The model refreshes overnight, analysing the entries for today's meetings with fresh eyes. Our full card for today's racing is already live, covering every race the system rates across the UK and Ireland. We publish the complete card — not a single tip — because transparency is what we do. Every selection, every price, every result, good or bad, is there for all to see.
The algorithm learns from its losses. We'll be back.
