“I was nervous about the ground and James [Doyle, jockey] did say that Flaming Rib would improve for better ground. He's never been a bad work horse but he did a piece of work last week that was 'wow' as he beat a horse rated a good bit higher than him with ease. We watched it the whole way and we thought it was just a case of Flotus to beat. We did that and even the cameraman thought he'd won, then they panned out and Perfect Power's flying - he's an unbelievably talented horse. Second place is the first loser and it's never somewhere that nice to be but we're really proud of what he's done and we're looking forward to a rematch at some stage - Hugo Palmer, trainer.”

“Flaming Rib has done it really well. When I started Michael [Owen] had a fantasy he might be a Guineas horse and we thought the Greenham might be a chance and he showed there he was a sprinter.
