Royal Rhyme
Did well early in his career, including when beating three rivals in the 2024 Brigadier Gerard at Sandown (1m2f, soft); 0-9 since, albeit twice placed at the highest level; pulled too hard when beaten 6.25l into sixth of 12 on return in a Group 3 here last month; never featured at Chester in a Group 2 last time when the ground was likely too quick; similarly good ground likely here and would need a huge performance.

From the connections
“I always had tabs on the leader and I thought we went a nice gallop. I was just trying to get Royal Rhyme to relax and he was in great form and very professional. He won very nicely the last day at Goodwood and definitely deserves to be at this level. I felt like we were going a good gallop and he picked up and kept going off it and hit the line strong. The ground has dried up a little from yesterday and it's a bit tacky as well. This lad likes this sort of ground, so it's worked out well - Clifford Lee, jockey.”
“I think Royal Rhyme is definitely a Listed class and possibly Group horse in the making. This is his kind of trip. He probably would get further if he learns to relax, but for now, definitely a mile and a quarter. He loves this type of ground - Clifford Lee, rider.”
“When I rode Royal Rhyme at Kempton, early doors all he did was gallop away. The extra couple of furlongs though has done him justice. He travels well through that sort of ground and he's done it nicely now. I feel like he'll get a bit further as he's a very strong-travelling horse - Clifford Lee, jockey.”
