Racing Post Spotlight

Ended his 2yo campaign with a Group 1 win, beating Delacroix in the William Hill Futurity; no wins last year, but managed a fine third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and a fair fourth in the Irish Champion Stakes (1m2f); too keen when attempting 1m4f in the Arc; can win races at four and this appeals as a suitable starting point if his fitness holds up.

26 Oct 2024·William Hill Futurity Trophy Stakes (Group 1) (No Geldings) · Doncaster
Hotazhell is a smashing horse, he's very tough and he loves a battle. I don't think he'll ever win races by large margins, he loves just looking at the other horse and saying 'I'm better than you'. He's a little bit feisty, he ain't called Hotazhell for nothing. I'd say he'll start off over a mile and take it from there. He'll probably stay a mile and a quarter. I'm not sure he'll stay a mile and a half but you never know, he's a very relaxed horse and he just might. He's done very well, he's won a Group 3, a Group 2 and now a Group 1. That's just the start of his career hopefully and he'll go on next year and get better - Jessica Harrington, trainer.
28 Sept 2024·Montane Developments Beresford Stakes (Group 2) · Curragh
I knew the step up in trip was always going to be an advantage to Hotazhell as was the slower ground - Shane Foley, jockey, speaking to Racing TV. He got a bit free coming down the hill but today Hotazhell came around a bend and did it well. When he gets to the front he pricks his ears and doesn't really do that much. He's straightforward at home but when we come racing we saddle him in the racecourse stables rather than the saddling boxes and keep a red hood on him just to keep the lid on him. He'll go to Doncaster - Jessica Harrington, trainer, speaking to Racing TV.
25 Jul 2024·Japan Racing Association Tyros Stakes (Group 3) · Leopardstown
Hotazhell is a nice colt. They went a good gallop and he picked up well. He is tough and he just does enough. We might go for a nice race over 1m in September - Jessica Harrington, trainer
