Spirit Catcher
Having tumbled down the weights he returned to form in a 1m1f handicap here last month, winning decisively; second over 1m2f at Ripon on Sunday, staying on at the finish; up in trip but likely to go well.

From the connections
“I was relieved because we've struggled with Spirit Catcher for a while. It's good to get him back in the winner's enclosure. Down in grade, he's managed to do some running and it's a step in the right direction. He was one of the ones I took to France, but he skinned the back of his heel so couldn't run, and when we came back he wasn't quite right so we ran out of time with him. Last time out he had a poor draw and we probably rode him the wrong way, but he was better this time. - Phil Kirby, trainer.”
“That was a good start by Spirit Catcher. He was a little bit on his toes, which we were a bit concerned about, but Joe (Fanning) said the hardest part was pulling him up. Once he settled in front he was going nicely. As soon as something joined him he found another gear. I think we'll probably find another race for him this year, though time's running out-Mark Johnston, trainer.”
