Racing Post Spotlight

Last year's top-rated filly worldwide; won the Cheshire Oaks, the Classics at Epsom and the Curragh and the Yorkshire Oaks; at least matched her best effort when touched off by Daryz on soft in the Arc, well clear of the remainder; perhaps one race too many when underwhelming at the Breeders' Cup; picked up smoothly to win a Group 2 by 1.75l here on seasonal return (1m2f, good); this is a bigger task, and it's not unfair to say her ideal trip is further than this, but she's the most likely winner.

You'd be delighted with that. We wanted a nice, even pace so Minnie Hauk could get back into gear a little bit. We didn't want a dawdle, so it was lovely for her. She travelled with all the zest she did last year and won very snugly. You couldn't be happier with her and Ryan was very happy. He said he just let her point her toe a bit the last furlong. The Tattersalls Gold Cup is the plan, and that was the perfect prep for it. If the Tattersalls Gold Cup went well, she could go to Ascot for the Prince of Wales's. We were thinking of keeping her at a mile and a quarter for her first three runs - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.

They just went very fast and Minnie Hauk just got trapped out a little bit. I think she'll stay [in training] next year - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.Minnie Hauk never really settled, and when I asked her to take some blows, she never took it. So I think she just over-raced today - Christophe Soumillon, jockey.

Minnie Hauk ran a great race. We're delighted with her. We'll get her home and see how she is and make a decision [on her participation at the Breeders' Cup] - Aidan O'Brien, trainer. We're very proud of Minnie Hauk she just got caught. She's run a blinder. I thought she'd won and I'm sure she's got a great future, and I look forward to her running many more times - Michael Tabor, co-owner.Minnie Hauk is a big galloper and she took the front so easily. When she came on the bit I thought, 'Now it's time to go', and we are going to win easy, but I was squeezing her to keep going. If you take Daryz out, she would be one of the most impressive fillies to win the Arc, but that is racing. Sometimes you just have to accept you get beaten by another one - Christophe Soumillon, jockey.
21 Aug 2025·Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1) (Fillies & Mares) · York
Minnie Hauk cruises and she's a lovely mover, and obviously the Arc and the Breeders' Cup Turf are there for her. A lot of people have done a lot to look after her, so I appreciate everyone's hard work and I'm delighted. Ryan gave her a class ride and he was very cool on her. She's classy and it was a very confident ride. It wasn't going to be a micky mouse race, they were going to go an even gallop without going crazy. It's up to the lads. Ryan said possibly the Arc for Whirl and the Breeders' Cup for this filly depending on ground. Whirl, as we saw at Goodwood, handles soft ground, but she handles the other ground as well. Minnie Hauk has run on soft ground, but we always thought the quicker the ground the better she'd be, and she skipped over that. She has a lot of options, but the better the race the better she'll be - Aidan O'Brien, trainer, speaking to ITV Racing.
19 Jul 2025·Juddmonte Irish Oaks (Group 1) (Fillies) · Curragh
The boss [John Magnier] said he asked Ryan where to go with Minnie Hauk and he said she could go to the Yorkshire Oaks and the boss said what about giving her a break and train her for the Vermeille to give her a French prep for the Arc. So all those things are open. I think she can do either those things but if she was going down the Arc trial route, she'd have to have a couple of easy weeks and obviously if she was going to York then she wouldn't have those couple easy weeks. She had a very easy race today as the tempo wasn't strong so she should come out of it well. I'd imagine we'd have a fair idea in the next week. Looking at her, she probably would love York - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.
6 Jun 2025·Betfred Oaks (Group 1) (Fillies) · Epsom
I'm delighted with Minnie Hauk. She's very classy and Ryan gave her a beautiful ride. He loved her the last day [at Chester] and then again today, so she's very exciting. She's obviously learning - she went to Chester and learnt a lot and was still green, and she was always improving from mid-race. What you love about her is that she's a great traveller; she has a lot of class. Ryan felt he was going very easily today on her and usually what that means is that she will be able to step up a couple of grades into even higher-class races. It's lovely for the lads and for everyone to have another filly like that. - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.Minnie Hauk is still learning a little bit. Aidan had a lot of faith in her. She travelled around strongly and I got to her quite easy, and then she was a little green in front. When the other filly came back she went on again. She's a talented filly and she stayed on well. I'm very happy with her and hopefully she'll build on this - Ryan Moore, jockey.
7 May 2025·Weatherbys ePassport Cheshire Oaks (Listed Race) (Fillies) · Chester
That [the Oaks] is the plan. Aidan always thought Minnie Hauk would improve a lot for this run. She's a very kind, uncomplicated filly with a great attitude. The step up in trip obviously helped and you'd be thinking of the Oaks. Ryan was niggling away just to get her interested, but she's kind and always answers to the jockey and she just kept on finding. Ryan was quite sweet on her - Paul Smith, representative of Coolmore, owners.
