Sukanya
Fourth behind Precise at Goodwood last summer; ran her best race in Ireland when second to the top-class Diamond Necklace over 7f at Leopardstown in September; a game winner of the Fred Darling last month, beating favourite Touleen, the subsequent 1,000 Guineas sixth; has a good chance of seeing out this trip but needs to raise her game.

From the connections
“Sukanya is high-class and has got a devilish turn of foot, and she's beaten the third-favourite for the Guineas [Touleen] on merit. She's very good and I'm looking forward to her for the rest of the year. We'd obviously have to supplement her for the English Guineas, but my gut feeling before this is that she wouldn't handle the Dip, so that's why she's in the Irish Guineas. She needs top of the ground, so we'll see. My first reaction is that I'd like to go for the Irish Guineas, but if my arm is twisted I don't mind having a runner in the English one. My two-year-olds were very backward last year but she was always the standout. She put in some really good performances behind some very good fillies. Her work has been exceptional these last two weeks, and anyone who's listened I've told she wouldn't be out the first three. We'll campaign her in the big ones now - Jack Channon, trainer.”
