Summer Island
AW winner in February on stable debut; stepped up from Bellewstown third when winning readily over 7f here early in the month; should be in the mix again despite 9lb rise, but not guaranteed to confirm with fifth-placed Java Wood.

From the connections
“Summer Island was in good form coming here and he came out of his Bellewstown race very well. The ground was probably a little bit soft for him the last day. Good ground here today and Paddy [Harnett] gave him a nice even ride, it was very straightforward. He picked up nicely and galloped to the line. Hopefully, he'll be consistent in his grade or even if he goes up a little bit, he can still be consistent throughout the season for the owners. He's Caravaggio so we thought he wouldn't have any problems stepping back to seven but he stays a mile and is quite versatile - Natalia Lupini, trainer.”
