Racing Post Spotlight

Chesham Stakes runner-up and Listed winner at Tipperary before a respectable effort in a 1m Canadian Grade 1 on final 2yo start; won going away from Power Blue (gave 3lb) in Group 3 at Leopardstown (7f, good to yielding) on reappearance; pulled very hard in the 2,000 Guineas; fifth was a decent outcome in the circumstances; can make his presence felt if settling better.

The only bit of a setback we had with Thesecretadversary was at Ayr last year. He was a bit unlucky in Canada last time. He's in everything so we'll see where we go. He stays well. He's been working well. He ran a good race at Ascot last year and won well at Tipperary, where he beat the horse who was second in the Middle Park [Brussels], so it was a fair bit of form. He's in every Guineas bar the Italian, and I entered him in a $1 million race in the US the same day as the English Guineas. We'll talk to the owners - Fozzy Stack, trainer.

Thesecretadversary ran a great race. It's annoying we didn't get there, but he ran a great race. He's been very straightforward, he's always looked a bit above average from the minute we started doing a bit with him. I know he's quite colourful, but he's actually a very good model. Seamie was delighted with him, he said he has the pace of a good horse, he feels he will mature in time - Fozzy Stack, trainer.
