King's Code
Below form in this race in 2024 and also last April on his only other visit here; had an excellent autumn last year on AW and won again in January, but he's struggled to make an impact in more recent AW starts and finished last at York on return to turf; return to 1m2f would suit if he were in better form but this may be a tough turf mark.

From the connections
“King's Cove was qualified and those finals are good races to have because I wouldn't win many £80,000 handicaps. There was prize-money down to sixth, so I thought he'd get some of it. He's had a fair few runs and he's had a bit of a break, but he came back and won at the track last month, and his last three races have been good. He likes the all-weather - he prefers that to the grass - so we might get him back out in two or three weeks - David Evans, trainer.King's Cove was tough. He jumped good and I didn't really want to lead but I felt like I had the race in control from where I was. It took a while to build him up but once he got his head down and the more I asked him, the more grit he showed me - Neil Callan, jockey, speaking on Racing TV.”
“King's Code is a big lad and, with the ground as quick as it was, I thought he might struggle a bit, which he did early doors. The cheekpieces helped him concentrate, the penny dropped late and he closed really well - Sean Levey, jockey, speaking to Sky Sports Racing.”
