Racing Post Spotlight

Runner-up twice in Group 1 company as a juvenile, including in the Middle Park at Newmarket with Coppull narrowly behind in third; however, he made an underwhelming start to his 3yo career when only sixth to Coppull (Division third) in 6f Ascot Group 3 on reappearance 22 days ago; possible he simply needed the run but arrives with a point to prove.

From the connections

27 Sept 2025·Tattersalls Middle Park Stakes (Group 1) (Colts) · Newmarket
We were very happy. Brussels is a big, strong, fast horse and we were delighted with that run. He did look good on his first start, but he has been a bit babyish. I think it will come, but he's very big. I think all the experience he's getting this year will stand him in good stead for next year. He's not short of speed. I'd imagine we'll leave him alone now. We'll probably have a look at a Classic with him and see how it goes - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.

Ryan said Brussels was very babyish, he's never been away. He will come forward a lot for it and all these horses are running with Ascot in mind but Ryan said it might come too quick because he was so babyish. We'll see how much he comes on. He said he'd have no problem getting seven and he's a massive, big, powerful horse - Aidan O'Brien, trainer.
